Alana O. Rogers Dance Company (AORDC) presents RainWORKs, an evening of new contemporary dance from Seattle artists. Alana Rogers has partnered with three other choreographers and companies to share new, in-progress work before it makes its way to larger stages in 2019. The goal of the event is to build community, share audiences, garner feedback, and enjoy an evening of thrilling, new contemporary dance. The vibe will be casual, with a minimalist approach to technical elements, and the production a little rough around the edges - perfect for triggering buzz for a new year of art-making in Seattle!

Seattle's BOOST dance festival returns in 2018 as a bi-annual event. BOOST celebrates its seventh season as a unique festival bridging the gap between veteran artists and up and coming, new choreographers, dancers, and collaborators. This year the festival returns to its original home at The Erickson Theater in Capitol Hill March 23 - 25. 2018.

BOOST is recognized for its special format that showcases a wide variety of professional contemporary dance artists of all genres from Washington State. This year the festival will expand its vision with a firm goal of creating a diverse bill of artists, aiming to create opportunity for choreographers of color. BOOST believes in the importance of transparency within the selection process and works to showcase a wide range of artists who have unique experiences, outlooks, views, and therefore art.

Karin Stevens Dance presents their new work, Record of the Anthropocene Movement premiering March 16 – 19, 2017 Taproot Theatre Company’s Isaac Studio Theatre

Record of the Anthropocene Movement is a collaboration between Karin Stevens, photography Omar Willey and composer Paul Rucker. Also featuring lighting by Sara Torres, costume design by Ali Rose Panzarella and dancers Naphtali Beyleveld, Timothy Johnson, Philippa Myler, Anja Kellner-Rogers, Noelle Price, Kelly Taylor, Alexandra Beatty Spencer, and Maia Veague.

Based on the “Five Elements” (or “Five Processes”) of Chinese philosophy, this piece connects dancers to the elements that make up Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Their movements play out a history, a present, and some possible futures of the region in the era of the Anthropocene. Images from six years of photography project onto both the stage and the dancers themselves, to create an environment that illuminates the dancers’ external world and their internal states. A unique combination of static and moving images and three dimensional projection merges with the physical bodies of the dancers as they search for harmony and explore the precarious balance of humans and their environment.

CONVERGE Dance Festival is an annual modern dance festival featuring live music. This year's performances will be at Velocity Dance Center on May 14th and 15th 2016.

Sapience Dance Collective believes in fostering community.  As a part of CONVERGE Dance Festival, we provide opportunities for local choreographers and dancers to network and learn from each other, as well as work with new dance and music artists.

CONVERGE is produced, directed and curated by Sapience Dance Collective co-­directors Amy Weaver and Sarah Seder.

Ktisk Contemporary Dance presents Work//Life an evening of contemporary dance inspired by the struggles of balancing work, life, and art. Choreographers Rachael Forstrom, Philippa Myler, Lauren Linder and Adrianna Hernandez provide a deeper view of how careers affect the people pursuing them. The program consists of three personal journeys into the business of life and dance.
